Psychological recovery is an approach to mental health care that focuses on supporting individuals in their journey towards recovery. Unlike the traditional understanding of recovery, which often refers to being cured or symptom-free, psychological recovery takes a holistic and person-centered approach. It recognizes that recovery is not just about overcoming illness or symptoms, but about the person’s whole life. At its core, recovery is about reclaiming one’s humanity and reconnecting with one’s true self. The recovery model aims to help individuals with mental health conditions look beyond the limitations imposed by their conditions. It encourages them to pursue their personal ambitions, establish meaningful relationships, and create personal connections. Ultimately, psychological recovery is a transformative journey that enables individuals with mental health problems to live meaningful lives in their chosen communities. It is a pathway towards achieving their full potential. It is important to recognize that each person's journey to recovery is unique and personal, and the path they take will be different for everyone.

We practice evidence-based psychotherapies, which are guided by the most current research relevant to the practice of Clinical Psychology. The model that is most commonly used is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. When needed, we also integrate treatment components from other therapeutic models including humanistic, psychodynamic, integrative and emotionally focused approaches.
